The CDC reports that over 100.1 million American adults are considered obese. With rising obesity rates, access to bariatric procedures has become easier and more common. An estimated 250,000 bariatric procedures are performed each year. Nurses working in areas caring for post-op bariatric patients must be familiar with evidence-based interventions to promote healing, recovery, and overall success.
