This course provides a comprehensive overview of trauma, its causes, and its effects on the mind and body. Learners will explore various types of traumatic events and understand what classifies as trauma, including acute, chronic, complex, and secondary trauma. The course will delve into the pathophysiology of trauma, explaining how stress impacts the brain and nervous system, leading to conditions such as PTSD. Participants will learn the signs, symptoms, and behavioral responses to trauma. Emphasis will be placed on prevention and protection strategies to mitigate trauma’s impact, including resilience-building and self-care techniques.
