Course Overview
In this course, we will cover a variety of nursing topics which are listed in the course outline below. This course fulfills the license renewal requirements outlined by the Massachusetts Board of Nursing for RNs and LPNs and is accepted by APRNs as well. Upon completion of this single module, you will receive a certificate for 15 contact hours.
Massachusetts also requires all nurses to complete a Sexual and Domestic Violence Prevention course with each renewal to fulfill Chapter 260 requirements. Nursing CE Central does not currently provide this course, but will offer it in the future.

Course Outcomes
After completing this course, the learner will rate a 4 out of 5 on the Likert Scale for their ability to:
- Identify individual and organizational behaviors/ factors that heighten the risk for nurse burnout
- Recognize risk factors that could lead to a bullying environment.
- Recognize how to identify and analyze quality improvement opportunities.
- Understand ways to prevent workplace violence towards nurses.
- Recognize the importance of the many telemetry devices used and identify how these devices impact patient care.
- Identify the many risk factors for Heart Failure and learn about newer medications and treatments
- Identify potential cases of hypertension and screen individuals at risk, fostering interventions and mitigating adverse outcomes through prompt diagnosis.
- Understand the pathophysiology of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract and list examples of underlying conditions that cause gastrointestinal bleeding.
- Discuss signs and symptoms of constipation.
