Over the past several years, the demand for nurses across the United States has continued to increase. This, combined with the COVID-19 pandemic, has left a gap in the nursing workforce significantly impacting patient care and the nursing profession. The purpose of this course is to discuss the nursing shortage and review statistics surrounding it. It also reviews the impact of nursing shortages on patient care and suggests strategies for mitigating them.
