In this course, learners will understand the nurse’s role in discharge planning to the rehab level after hospitalization and how the transition from hospital nurses to rehab nurses is performed. Nurses will also be educated on their role in rehab and collaborating with other disciplines to ensure the client receives the most appropriate treatment and cost-effective services in the rehab facility. This course will also inform nurses regarding the changes in reimbursement from fee-for-service to managed care, which caps the amount the Commission for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) reimburses to providers and facilities.
