A Spinal Cord Injury is a traumatic and life–changing experience. There are many changes that the patient and their loved ones will have to begin getting used to, one of which is the changes in their bowel and bladder function. Dysfunction in these areas is dependent on the level of injury and interventions must be tailored to meet the patient’s needs and preferences. Many nurses working outside of Rehabilitative Care may be unfamiliar with how to properly manage bowel and bladder needs. This course will provide a general overview to increase knowledge and awareness.
